The Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia employs around 110 staff members in Switzerland and in six offices abroad who are dedicated to promoting Swiss arts and culture.

As of 1 September 2025, or by mutual agreement, we are looking for a 

Communications Specialist, German-speaking, responsible for media relations / PR (80%)

Your tasks

You will be responsible for planning and implementing institutional media relations, particularly in German- and Italian-speaking regions. Your main tasks will include:
  • preparing and helping to shape communication and media strategy decisions

  • responding to media enquiries and drafting press releases

  • ensuring the organisation, planning and coordination of media appearances, including media training 

  • implementing communication and media relations for key events organised by the foundation, such as Switzerland's contribution to the Venice Biennale

  • conducting media analyses and maintaining networks

  • writing and editing texts, including ghostwriting

  • responsibility for the quality of German in all written communication produced by the foundation: proofreading texts, calls for proposals, newsletters

Your profile

For this challenging and varied position we are seeking a committed and resilient personality who at least partly meets the following requirements:
  • relevant education and several years of professional experience in journalism and/or corporate communications

  • good knowledge of and a network in the Swiss media landscape, especially in the cultural sector

  • experience in cultural policy or the Swiss political system

  • ideally, experience with contemporary art and cultural creation 

  • experience in managing and implementing complex projects

  • high level of written proficiency in German (proofreading), as well as excellent oral and written skills in at least one other official language and English
